Perisic Shows Up Big Time For Croatia

Well, Perisic is no longer a good player that has gone under the radar. After his man-of-the match performance against the defending champions, Inter Milan may not be able to hold onto him. Especially if he can keep on playing this well for as long as Croatia are in the competition. The boy is proving to be a serious problem when he plays this well.

I've always liked the natural ability that Perisic has. Really good dribbler, knows how to work the wing but can come inside and be effective in the middle of the pitch. What has kept him from being a world class player, is his decision-making. He dribbles when he should pass, and passes when he should instead run with the ball and make use of the space. That has always left me frustrated whenever Inter Milan would have a breakaway and he would choose the wrong option that breaks things down.

In this game, there were times where he made these kinds of mistakes, but all that matters is he provided the great cross for the equalizer and scored the winning G. That's all that matters and he showed that when he gets it right he can be more of a difference maker than even Modric. Could be seen as rude and shameful to say that knowing Modric's standing in world football, but sue me, I'm saying it and it's true.

He's got to keep it going thought and  work on smoothing out the edges to his game. Where Modric and Rakitic
work together to keep the team firm and solid, and try and dictate the match, Perisic can be the one who drives the team forward and both creates and scores the goals to make them win the games. After this match, he's now become a very valuable player for Croatia and has to keep up the momentum, if Croatia want to go all the way and win it all.

A memorable night for him and one that he'll remember. Scoring the winner against a team who have had a great defensive record, and are the current holders. His name has been put on the map and he's risen out of the shadow of Modric who's always seen as the only real "superstar" of the Croatian team. They've got another one, and he proved it in a very pivotal match and one of Croatia's greatest victories in their short football history. HH
